Minsky, Marvin (Lee)
(n. 9 ago. 1927, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Científico computacional estadounidense. Obtuvo un Ph.D. en la Universidad de Princeton y se incorporó al cuerpo docente del MIT, donde permaneció durante toda su carrera. Sus investigaciones contribuyeron a los avances en la inteligencia artificial, en la psicología cognitiva, en las redes neuronales (construyó el primer simulador de redes neuronales en 1951) y en la teoría de las máquinas de Turing. Pionero de la robótica, construyó una de las primeras manos mecánicas con sensores táctiles, escáneres visuales y el software e interfaces computacionales requeridos. Influyó en muchos proyectos de robótica fuera del MIT y trabajó para incorporar en las máquinas la capacidad humana de razonar con sentido común. En The Society of Mind [La sociedad de la mente] (1987), 270 ideas simples interconectadas reflejan la estructura de su teoría. Recibió el Premio Turing en 1969.
